For centuries the rib-cracking art of Muay Thai has driven fighters to master the weapons of the trade-fists, elbows, knees and feet-and has lured foreigners who thought they were tough enough to compete in the ultimate ring sport. Today, Muay Thai, or Thai boxing is the national sport of Thailand, and its champions are the country's superstars. Infused with Buddhist ritual and an ancient code of honor, the sport deserves much more than its international reputation for vicious deathblows and bloody knuckles.

This is the story of three boxers who enter the ring for the fight of their lives. For 13-year-old Gong Prai, Thai boxing is a passport out of poverty. He's elbowed his way to 7 knockouts, but this upcoming match will test more than just his skills. Two hours away, under the tutelage of a legendary Thai master, westerner Sam Sheridan laces up for his first bout and discovers he is facing bone-crushing odds. And on the outskirts of Bangkok, 29-year-old mother of two, Boon Term steps into the ring for the first time, kicking past the barriers of this male dominated sport to fulfill her lifelong dream.

Gong Pria, Sam Sheridan, and Boon Term finally have a chance to prove themselves...but this grueling martial art could take everything they've got.
